I do not think of myself as an artistic photographer. I take photographs mostly to supplement my memories ("oh yeah, I remember being there and seeing that") and as a form of communication ("let me show you something I saw").
On the other hand, I appreciate photography as an art and there are moments in which I see things that I'd like to attempt to record in photographs. Maybe someday when I run out of other things to do I'll buy a decent camera and learn about photography.
