Greetings!

I am a semi-retired graphic designer, part-time mixed media mosaic artist, full time graduate student in Public Health, former science teacher, current art instructor, long-time "trashion-fashionista" and compulsive writer. All my mosaic artwork and clothing designs are created primarily from reclaimed, recycled and salvaged materials. I love repurposing old stuff -- my husband and I even built our homestead out of about 60% recycled and salvaged materials. I am passionate about environmental sustainability, social responsibility and recycling. I'm also pretty fond of dumps, thrift stores and yard sales.

I find the mosaic process totally engrossing because it involves the heart in the passion of creation; the head in fitting the pieces together and the hands in craftsmanship. My work can be seen in various venues in Vermont and on the island of Kauai in HI, and in homes and businesses around the world. I believe strongly in the value of the arts in public spaces, in our communities and in education. I create my art for the pure joy of the creative process. I show my work as a way to demonstrate just how precious our resources are and how much useful, beautiful stuff ends up in the trash. Art work and hand-made fashions that I don't give away to family, friends and non-profit organizations, I sell to support the various public and educational projects I am committed to facilitating.

Other favorite pass times are traveling, reading, traveling, gardening and traveling. I admit to being a tea snob -- I love trying all sorts of good quality, loose leaf, exotic teas, but I am totally egalitarian in regards to chocolate -- any kind, anytime, will do!

Some of the art work you see on here is for sale and I do sometimes accept commissions. I also teach classes in various mosaic methodologies and sell some materials and supplies for mosaic. You can find out more at my web site below:
