Statement of purpose: I wish pretty much every day that I had a camera in my head so I could snap up all of the lovely things I see. Always wanting to capture the light, the energy, the feelings of a certain moment in time, I am constantly composing photos in my head. Sometimes, though, I remember to grab my camera and the results go here. Nothing fancy--just a partial chronicle of my everyday life with a digicam.

Equipment: I use my DSLR, the Samsung GX10 (a twin of the Pentax K10D); a 2 year-old Fuji F10, great camera for the size and the price; a Sony CyberShot DSC-P50 (mostly retired); and a series of cameraphones (Nokia 6230, LG AX380, Motorola Q).

And a very steady hand. I am a natural light photographer and seldom use flash. Maybe 1 out of 100 shots when I'm desperate, although I hope to be able to use it in certain environments when I get a decent flash setup.

About Steph: I am 28 years old, and I graduated cum laude with a BA in English at the University of Oklahoma in '06. For 3.5 years I worked as a supplement specialist and employee trainer at a nearby health food store, and I worked for a wireless phone company for a while too. I work as an administrative assistant right now.

I'd like to eventually find the ideal job (or jobs) that'll let me be a total homebody and still use my talents to the fullest, but for now, things are okay. I'm getting my bills paid with enough extra to support my photography habit.

I love music and examining American culture and poetry and singing and writing and food and art and film, and I can do a lot of things pretty well, so it's hard for me to decide what I want to be "when I grow up." I'm thinking that I'll probably try and get into grad school within in the next year.

More about my photos: I do take many self-portraits, but it's not so much that I adore looking at myself; I just prefer human subjects--human skin, human textures, human expressions--and only have myself as a model most of the time. Guess I need to find more friends. I am trying to branch out. I'm dying to start the 100 Acquaintances project.

Random fact: My favorite flickr tag is "notes," which I put on every photo that I've annotated with notes.

I'm Female and Open.
