I am struck by the beauty in simple things. I am struck by the beauty in bent, worn, beaten things...forgotten things which were once new, loved, cherished and used. They meant something to someone and looking at them...there seems to be an indelible print of humanity. I find beauty in the lonely. My aesthetic is more mono no aware and wabi-sabi than flash or glitz. I have a deep well of sorrow, hurt and loneliness that frequently inspires my work.
I am wooden, not plastic. Rural, not urban. And frail...gentle, yet strong and stubborn.
