"Helena is a very youthful and energetic person contrary to her self-described characterization as “quite a mature lady.” On the hike to Hastings we had to walk through at least 8 inches of unbroken snow, which made walking more difficult and tiring. At ten miles two tired hikers dropped out. But Helena continued effortlessly to the end for a total of more than 12 miles. As we hiked Helena took many pictures. She was constantly alert to the images in her environment. She shared her enthusiasm for photography with her companions and encouraged them to view her pictures on Flickr. She cheerfully answered any questions that were asked of her. She is an unassuming person who is easy to talk to. Her pleasant disposition is always evident. On the train back to New York City she critically reviewed the pictures she had taken. If she was tired you would not have known it. Thanks to her my interest in Flickr has been rejuvenated. Thank you, Helena."
