I'm a fiction writer and former professional actor.

I have always had a love for photography , even since before Christmas 1995, when my father gave me the camera his father had given him. It was an old Canon slr from 1972 -- it had its quirks, but I did my best with it, and with that camera I learned all the basics.

In 2004, I got tired of lugging my old slr around, so went digital with my first point and shoot, a Pentax Optio 750z. After a few years, I felt an urge to get back to the kind of photography I was grown up with, and in 2007 I bought my first digital slr, the Canon EOS 40D.

With my digital slr I feel as though I have learned as much in one year as I had learned the previous twelve, shooting on other cameras.

I recently found an old roll of film in my bag, something I shot around 2003. I wonder what's on it...

"Steve is a great miniature photographer. He comes up with really creative and epic scenarios to photograph. In that same way he's a very good landscape and portrait photographer coming up with interesting compositions regardless of the subject matter."
