I'm an expat in Hokkaido in northern Japan. I've also lived in Germany and Australia and still think of Lancashire back in the UK as 'home'.
I got my first DSLR, a Canon 400D, in March 2007 with a crappy kit lens and an even crappier Sigma 70-300 but we all have to start somewhere. I've since upgraded to the Canon EF 100-400 L lens and am hoping one day I can afford an upgrade to that.
In October 2009 I got a Canon 7D.
My main interest is fauna especially birds. Most of my photos are from Hakodate, Yakumo and Onuma with occasional forays further afield in Hokkaido.
