My love of nature is what inspired me to become a photographer. When I was a kid, I used to get up early during the summer months and run out to the edges of our neighborhood to shoot pictures of the weeds silhouetted by the sun using my parents Polaroid. I would bring back a stack of photos and after my parents discovered that I was burning through film faster than they were smoking cigarettes, they decided that it was time for me to have a "real" camera. My first "real" camera was a Pentax K1000. I've owned a few Nikon's in my time, but now I shoot with a Canon 60D. I have a few lenses that I can't live without - 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.4, and a 100mm macro. I've always wanted a bumper sticker that says, "I brake for great light and bokeh" because for me, that's what photography is all about. I am a self-taught amateur striving to become a paid professional. If you like my work and feel like leaving a few comments or adding my photos to your favorites, I would be eternally grateful. I am constantly amazed by all of the crazy talent here on Flickr and find inspiration on a daily basis. I especially love browsing through the Explore photos because it motivates me to become a better photographer. You all make it look so easy!
