Photography as a passion started only a few years ago... somewhere in 2008 I guess, and over the years it has developed into a full-fledged devotion. I'm always with a camera, clicking stuff... in and around the house... or whenever I go out. Sometimes I even click the ceiling fan or my toes (thankfully those shots will never make it to Flickr)... simply because I love clicking :P

I love the fact that in a photograph, time is contained.. forever ! I feel, that in a photograph, a moment is frozen forever.. and time can never touch it. This is the one thing that I love the most about a photograph.

Flickr has made me fall in love with photography even more and more, and I have learnt SO MUCH from many talented and upcoming photographers out here. Some shots inspire me and some leave me awestruck. It's an amazing portal where I have come across people from different parts of the world and seen their beautiful photographs.

I don't own a dslr yet, but I hope to do so in the future.
I also wish I had a pro account :( Being able to upload 200 images is such a hindrance because I have to delete my old images in order to make room for new ones :(
But still.. I love Flickr and I think it's the best photography website out there :D Wooooooohooooooooooo :D

These are some of the basic things I've learnt from my experience and I'd like to share it with whoever's interested :

1. Light is THE MOST important element ! It makes or breaks your image !
2. Always try and capture an image in natural light. Natural light is different EVERYDAY and it can give that extra bit of something to your images.
3. Composition is another key element that determines how good your photo is ! When photographing a single subject, make sure there's not a lot of other subjects in the background cause then it'll just take away all the attention from the main subject.
4. Never be afraid to experiment with new ideas. You'll come across a lot of photos on Flickr of a billion girls playing with their hair during golden hour or stretched out on a long road, and it's become so cliché now that it's BORING to be honest ! So always try and develop your OWN style of photography, and trust me you'll start coming up with wonders very soon :)
5. This is the most important point - KEEP CLICKING ! Photography is an art that gets better and better with time, so go ahead and keep clicking as much as you can ! If you don't have a subject or idea in your head.. don't waste your time worrying about it ! Just click random WEIRD stuff ! In short... go CAMERA CRAZY ! You'll find a lot of stuff that's suddenly popping out from places you overlooked :D So don't lay back and feel a mess ! Just go on capturing WHATEVER'S around you :D

Happy clicking and thanks for stopping by :)

"Stanley is an amazing photographer! He can capture the most simple elements and make them sophisticated. His simple, clean style is very editorial-like. Furthermore, Stanley is one of the few contacts of mine who has stayed with me since almost the beginning. I really appreciate your feedback, Stanley! :)"

"I feel it's about time I wrote a testimonial for you, Stanley! :) I'd say you're one of the people I enjoy reading comments from the most, because they are always thoughtful, and I can tell that you are viewing my work whole-heartedly, not just because you want just another contact. You always have the best things to point out and I love knowing exactly what it is that people enjoy about my photos :)

Now about your photography :D I love your stream's diversity. You have really creative pieces, but at the same time you have serious pieces. I love seeing what you post next, because you make simple things beautiful and complicated things soft and your work is always pleasant to look at :) I hope you never leave Flickr, because you are an amazing contact :)

SEE THIS EVERYONE? I am a witness to Stanley's amazing talent :') hahaha. :)"

"Stanley has amazing tones. I don't know how he does it, but his tones always blow me away. His photos of the sky make my heart ache and his macros are so beautiful and detailed, it's hard not to take notice in them. I'm so glad I found him on Flickr...He's too great! (:"
