I take photos as a hobby, though I'd love to turn it into something more. If you see something you'd like to buy, let me know as I can have professional prints made.

I get obsessed with things and will photograph them to my endless delight. I love textures and colors. I love taking photos of unexpected or ironic things and situations. I see the beauty in everything and everyone and I want you to see it too. I am an optimist.

I love pets and NYC. I love nature and wildlife as well. I love living in the city, but I want to live in the country as well. I'm social, and I'm antisocial. I'm a gemini who can't decide what she wants out of life other than friends, family, animals, and art.

Taking photos fulfills many things for me. I like to hold on to moments, keep them inside my memory for as long as possible. Remember every sensation and live it again and again. Photos can help jog the memory, bring you back to another time or place. I relive the moment the photo was taken each time I look at it.

Taking photos also allows me to be creative. To create. To do and to make. Some of the photos I take are pretty. Others make me think. Some are just visually interesting. I hope some of them are artistic and bring together many of those elements.

Though my brain loves art and loves to be creative and artistic, it also has a logical side (typical gemini with my two opposing natures). And yes, there can be a very technical side to photography. I love figuring that out and trying to perfect it.

I love the element of surprise that photography brings. I may pick the film, the camera, the subject matter, and when I can, I set focus, aperture, and shutter speed, but you never really know what you are going to get until you get it home. Looking through my photos is always a surprise.

My digital camera is a Sony Cybershot, but I also have a Holga, Lubitel, Nikon N80, Nikon FM, Kodak Pony, Diana, Polaroid, and a whole bunch of random point and shoots. I also love shooting and developing expired film. The surprising nature of cross processing slide film into negatives draws me to that as well. I love using film, expired film, and cross processed film because you just have to take the picture and hope it comes out. No going back until you get it right. No deleting. You do your best and send the rest out to the universe.

If I had to pick a preferred medium, it would be vintage and/or plastic film cameras and expired and/or cross process processed film.

I'm still looking for my artistic vision or statement or whatever. It is inside me somewhere, waiting to to be found. Right now, I'm just having fun, exploring, learning, and maybe taking a few decent photos in the meantime.
