I like to take pictures of vacations, festivals, interesting buildings, my cats, colors, plants, things I find on the ground, and everyday things that are part of my life. In nice weather I especially like to go on long walks and take photos til my batteries give out.
My goal is usually to document a place, a trip, an incident, or an experience, whether the photos turn out pretty or not. In other words any photo is better than no photo, but some photos are better than other photos. :)
I also love seeing pieces of other people's lives on Flickr!
My photo ABCs:

and just as important,

Charging!
P.S. NowPublic users, sorry, I don't want to share any of my photos on NowPublic! And I probably don't want any of my photos used for anything else either, although it doesn't hurt to ask but I'm a bit lazy about replying to my Flickr mail.

JRR KC says:
"shbth's photo trail is a long one and the journey along it is mesmerizing.
There's a place for art photos, and photography in its brief history has become a great art. But perhaps where photography shines brightest is in its documentary role.
These photos are documents; they will be precious in another age, if humanity lasts long enough, and they are fascinating now. They include old snapshots as well as hundreds, even thousands, of images snapped today or yesterday. I get a feeling of the camera bestowing a strange and tender sacrament as it non-judgmentally records drug houses, grand auditoriums, placid landscapes, amusement parks, daily life at home. The viewer will find many questions raised along the way, but never meanness or ridicule. These photos are the record of our human existence and the many ways, great and small, by which we seek to make it bearable for ourselves and others.
I'm determined to make my way through all 6000-plus (at this writing) of these photographs. It feels like time very well spent."16th March, 2007
