I've been 'hobby-ing' around in photography for over 7 years now. Started out with just a Canon PowerShot S2 IS in 2005 and then entered the intimidating world of DSLRs in 2006 with a Nikon D80 18-135mm and 50mm f/1.8. Since then my gadget list has grown to include a SB-800, Manfrotto legs w/ball head, 10' light stand, 17"x20" softbox, 45" white umbrella, and a Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-S (newly acquired & love it!).

Until recently I never really entertained the idea of letting this hobby develop into anything serious, but several opportunities have presented themselves and I believe I will check them out and see where they take me. Mostly requests to do family and children portraiture. I'm excited, because I love learning new techniques and trying new things with my equipment. I plan on using this type of forum to start showing my work to the photography community and my friends.
