Sport Northern Ireland is the lead agency for developing sport in Northern Ireland.

The corporate vision is to promote "a culture of lifelong enjoyment and success in sport which contributes to a peaceful, fair and prosperous society". In practice, this means Sport Northern Ireland creates and develops programmes and partnerships that will address its three strategic objectives:

1. Increased participation in sport and physical recreation;
2. Improved sporting performances; and
3. mproved efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of sport.
