I'm currently living abroad in Kitakyushu, Japan, but I previously lived in LA all my life. Being in Japan for the time I've been here (since August '07), I realize now how much I've taken the past for granted. There were so many amenities and conveniences that I accepted as an endless commodity, not the least of which was the closeness of friends. I began to get into photography not only because of the wonderful country I now find myself in, but also to keep a record of where I've been, what I've seen, and what it's done for me.

Over time, however, I stopped doing photography as a reminder of the past, but as a testament to the present. It's a wonderful world out there, and hopefully my camera sees something that I can't.
