I have worked in education my whole career, as teacher, headteacher, local government officer, national policy analyst, and was Director of the Scottish Schools Digital Network (see www.ssdn.org.uk). I started the SSDN Project in 2001 in the Scottish Executive and led the initiative for 5 years.
I now work with Cisco as an Education Business Development Manager in the Emerging Markets, covering South America and the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Russia.
I read a lot, I follow Glasgow Celtic FC, I live in the tiny Royal Burgh of Lauder in the Scottish Borders, and I share my thoughts on education, technology and other interests with those who find my blog remotely interesting - www.johnconnell.co.uk/blog/.
