Sound engineer working in film and TV post production sound who loves cycling, music, films and of course photography. I really enjoy making, editing and recording sound effects.

I get a lot of enjoyment from photography. My grandfather was a photographer and I spent hours as a child talking with him about it, and looking at his photos. I used his old Minolta SLR for a while after he passed away.

I suppose because I work in film and TV, I'm drawn to how a story is told within a frame. Taking photos feeds my fascination with light and colour.

I've used phone cameras, a Canon s3is, and just recently have purchased a Canon 450D with Canon EFS 17-85mm lens and a Canon EF 70-200mm F/4.0 L USM lens. I'm looking for a good 35mm lens just now and when I can afford it, an upgrade to the wider zoom and probably a new camera body.

Update: Have purchased a Panasonic Lumix LX5 as a portable camera to carry on a day to day basis, especially on my bicycle. Am slightly addicted to this little gem at the moment, and have left the poor DSLR in the drawer for the past 6 months. Work has prevented me from some of my usual photo escapades anyway and the LX5 was my first choice when I travelled to NZ recently.
