A colleague photographer recently pointed me to TinEye, a reverse image search engine that uses image identification technology (rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks) to locate instances of where on the web an image has been used.

So I submitted the URL for my most favoured image - one that I have also sold a number of copies of - and found that two websites were using it without my consent. One had even seen it fit to insert their logo over my image.

I had contacted both website administrators and it seems the images have now been removed.

Glad that someone respects visual artists enough to create such a great tool like Tineye. The more it's used, the more effective it becomes, so please - check it out if nothing else.
