When I was 12 we moved from San Francisco to Santa Cruz, California. Our house was about four blocks from the Goodwill As-Is. There was just a small building; most of the merchandise was piled up outside on the property surrounding it. I would go there with my red wagon and fill it with vintage treasures 'til it was ready to topple. There was a guy working the yard who would give you a price after sizing up your load. It never came to more than $2. I was hooked.
I've spent a lot of time in France, hanging around gypsy musicians and circus performers. Those experiences, as well as growing up in the 60's in San Francisco, are what influences my home design style.
