This benefit of seeing...can come only if you pause a while, extricate yourself from the maddening mob of quick impressions ceaselessly battering our lives, and look thoughtfully at a quiet image...the viewer must be willing to pause, to look again, to meditate.

    Aster-oid says:

"I may have met SZ on Flickr, but since then what looked at first as a lovely virtual acquaintance has developed very fast to a priceless real life friendship!
Yes, we actually met in person, during her recent vacations in Greece, and, yes, we did do lots of picture taking together - which is rather rare for a "lonewolf"-photographer like me... but what really brought us together was the fact that we appreciate about the same things in life and photography - although our approach may be different at times... and also the fact that both of us still and openly value humor and sensuality, which to me are the essence of the will to live, to be part of life around us, regardless of age, culture, nationality or other gaps and differences!
SZ goes for the little details and definitely has an eye for them. She also approaches photography and her photographic subjects with mature talent, but also with humor, tenderness and a will to connect!
Now, if I had to isolate just one factor that drives her photography and her artistic ambitions, I would certainly point out her unique talent to spot what on the surface seems old and rusty and worn out but still lingers on, still fights for a position and a role in life, for life itself!
Of course, SZ as a person and as a photographer is much more than just that... but this is for you to discover gradually, if you are smart enough to follow closely her photostream and comments here and there!"

    Boomingecho says:

"Sophie has a zest for life that is portrayed in her photography. Having known her for 40+ years now, I can attest that her photography is as upbeat and exuberant as her personality. She is a real and genuine person that loves people, life and the art of photography. She laughs, she cries, she encourages the novice and supports the pro, she sees with her heart and shoots it instinctively. Her photography is sensible, strong and depicts dynamic life. I am honored, enriched and privileged to have crossed her path."
