Me .. well I bead and play with Soutache. I have no time in my busy life to bead but I do anyway .. consequently I am always rushing and always frantic. I am a 40 something married, mother of two little boys .. I got married late in life and consequently had my children in my late 30's. My eldest son started Grade 2 this year, my youngest son started Grade 1 this year. I am mum to two fur babies as well .. they are Cavoodle dogs, Willo is a black minature Cavoodle and Hudson is an apricot toy Cavoodle.. they are great mates, although the little one is boss!
I adore vintage and antique beads, modern beads do not have the appeal that these beads have for me. With exception of all things Swarovski and seed beads, particularly Miyuki and Toho. I have a massive Swarovski crystal collection that occupy two very tall cabinets in my beading room .. known as 'the bead lounge' and recently referred to as 'Aladdins Cave'.
I write project tutorials for an Australian magazine, Australian Beading which is a bi-monthly publication. I design a jewellery piece then write the tutorial on how to construct it, materials etc. I enjoy this immensley.
My jewellery designs have been published in both Australian Beading magazine and Creative Beading magazine. In August of this year 2 of my beadwork pieces will be published in 'Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry' by Lark Publishing. I am immensly proud at having my beadwork selected for such a publication!
