My name is Richard (Austin to my close friends). I live and work in Vancouver BC Canada. Sure the natural beauty of Vancouver is mind-boggling at times, however the lack of any real history here drives me crazy as does all the rain we get. I live life through the eyes of child - I really do. I am amazed at how beautiful even the most simplistic of things can be, and how each day brings so much more wonder. I hope my child-like sense of amazement and wonder along with curiousity to try new things, challenges myself to always explore.

In college, my interest in photography declined to be replaced with reading and art, for which I still have a huge passion for both.

+ I have recently picked it back up with a new Canon G9 12.1 megapixel with 6x optical zoom.

I enjoy photography because I truly believe that it makes me see things better and in more detail. I would hate to use an expression as corny as *an artist's eye*; but I do notice myself paying attention to light, shadow and composition even when I don't have a camera in my hands.

This site is a poor combination of documenting things I do (to keep my family uptodate on what we've been doing) as well as sticking up some images that I enjoy, or that hold meaning for me.

So, if you can't quite figure out what the purpose of this site is, there is good reason. Happy viewing!
