In 2001 a group of process scientists, consultants and engineers came together to form SMS Environmental.
Our core aim was to build a successful Legionella control company based on delivering quality service by being totally customer focused.
Since that time SMS Environmental has grown; now employing 35 people and is set to exceed a turnover of £5 million in the year 2007/2008.
This success has been brought about by recognising and meeting our clients’ needs and ensuring certain standards are met with regard to health and safety, quality and the environmental impact of our company.

SMS Environmental is proud of the diversity of its people and is committed to ensuring all of our team are treated equally and with dignity and respect. We place emphasis on the training and development of our people and have been recognised as an Investor in People.
Health & Safety
The health, safety and wellbeing of our team members, clients and all other stakeholders is our number one priority. To that end we operate a health and safety management system that is accredited to OHSAS 18001: 2007 (encompassing BS8800:1996). We are also accredited under the Safe Contractor scheme and the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
Quality
SMS Environmental is committed to delivering the highest quality in both its services and products. To that end we are a category 1 accredited member of the Legionella Control Association and operate a quality system that is accredited to ISO 9001: 2000.
Environment
We consider that the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) is a moral obligation laid upon us. To that end we have taken upon ourselves processes to reduce the impact our services have on the environment and to that end have implemented an EMS that has been accredited to ISO 14001: 2004.

SMS Environmental is committed to the continual improvement of its range of services and products. So in addition to its core services of:
