I'm a computer geek, hobbiest acoustic guitar builder, and amateur photographer (duh). I've enjoyed taking picture since I was young, and did a little shooting for yearbook, and was a photog with my community college news paper.

I still have my first camera, an Ansco Readyflash circa who knows. In HS it was a Minolta X700 which I eventually sold to my cousin (I think), and college a Nikon FM2. Toward the end of college I sold the Nikon and the couple of lenses I had for it to pay rent and stuff.

Later when I had a real job, that digital thing was starting to really take off and I had a real hard time with the idea of investing a lot of $$ into technology you could clearly see was not long for this world. I couldn't do digital though as it wasn't where I wanted it yet, so I spent my time with point and shoots.

Eventually I bought one of the nicer Canon PnS's for my girlfriend (soon to be wife). It worked great for us, and I started to get a desire to do some more photography. Still though, the PnS's weren't all that great, and I had no desire for a big DSLR rig. I'm not so into it that I want to hump around a big photo bag, or even a large camera and lens.

After a couple more PnS's I finally found a camera that I love as much as I loved the Nikon FM2. Enter the Panasonic GF1. Smaller, lighter, more portable then a DSLR, but superior to any of the compacts out there. Good feature set, nice quality, nice lenses (although there needs to be more of them .... a 100mm f/2 would be nice :-) ). What fun it is to again have a camera that fits my usage pattern so well!

I'm proud of some of my shots, but don't think any are truly amazing. A lot are just snap shots of friends, family (mostly private), and my shop activities, and I'm happy with that too. As those of you who know what you are doing can readily tell, I do slim to zero post processing.

Thanks for reading.
