The Salt Lake Valley Health Department (SLVHD) is committed to promoting and protecting both community and environmental health throughout the Salt Lake Valley.

What we do:
Ensure Salt Lake County is healthy through:
- promotion of healthy lifestyles and the prevention of chronic diseases such as obesity,
- disease surveillance and outbreak intervention,
- family health services such as immunizations, well child and nutritional programs,
- environmental regulation, including food, sanitation, safety, water quality, hazardous waste and air quality inspections and monitoring.

SLVHD is the local health department serving Salt Lake County and a department of county government.
