I am a retired teacher. My wife Bronwen died in October 2005. We had been married for 38 years.

My hobbies include photography, industrial history, DIY, gardening, boating on the Norfolk Broads, caravanning and foreign travel.

I have been messing about with cameras since about 1955, when I was lent a tiny vest pocket Kodak. I love digital photography - apart from anything else it saves me so much money by not having to buy film and pay for every frame to be developed!

I run my own hobby website www.movablebridges.org.uk, which is dedicated to creating a photographic and historical record of all movable bridges in the British Isles.

I have over 2,000 movable bridges recorded on my website, and I am always grateful for contributions of images of any of them as it is going to take me some time to get round them all myself!
