The Six String Nation Guitar is a mythical, myth-making guitar, derived from - and contributing to - Canada’s collective mythology. It's an instrument designed to connect Canadians with each other and the world through the timeless art of storytelling.
Envisioned by Jowi Taylor and brought to life by Master Luthier George Rizsanyi, the 6SN guitar was crafted from Canadian icons, artifacts, and rare treasures – each piece symbolizing a significant element of Canadian culture and history: a bit of wood from Louis Riel’s schoolhouse, Pierre Trudeau’s canoe paddle, the legendary Golden Spruce of Haida Gwaii, and many more.
A musical “talking stick,” the 6SN guitar was launched on Canada Day 2006, and has been making its rounds ever since. So far, over 5, 000 people have had an opportunity to sit with and play it. Almost 50, 000 portraits have been taken of Canadians holding the guitar.
