American Sign Museum's photostream |
The American Sign Museum is in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our goal is to not only save old signs but to tell the story of the sign industry, it's pioneers, and it's influence on and by American commerce, technology, and of course the American landscape. Our collection includes lots of sign equipment, tools, supplies, photos, oral histories, and memorabilia. But mostly, it's all about the signs.
We support the bloom-where-they're-planted theory of signs being best where they originated, rather than in a museum, but when that's not possible, we endeavor to save good examples of our heritage and to minimally restore them.
We are a not-for-profit organization, and so rely on the kindness of strangers and many good friends to share their knowledge and to support us in a variety of ways. See some of our collection of more than 500 signs and pics of the museum on our website. You can also keep up with us on our blog. Take a virtual tour of the Museum as it is today (Our move to a bigger space is progressing) Better yet, come for a tour!
