I am a graduate of University of Louisville, having received a Masters in Music (clarinet performance) in 2008. I was a member of the wind ensemble and orchestra and was lucky enough to be asked to coach the clarinet ensemble. I received a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Ball State University in 1998 and was active as both a clarinetist and percussionist performing in recitals, marimba ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestra, clarinet choir, and other small ensembles. In 1999, I was hired as the band director for Duarte Unified School District in California. I helped to rebuild the program after the department suffered severe decline in numbers. In 2001, I moved back to Indiana and was hired as the clarinet instructor for the Lafayette School District. As a clarinetist I was active in the Lafayette Citizens Band and Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. After moving to Louisville, I became clarinet instructor at Male High School, Jefferson County Traditional Middle School, and Thomas Jefferson Middle School. I now live in Mannheim, Germany with my husband and two cats. While continuing to pursue musical endeavors, I am still teaching and developing web sites (client list at clarinerd.com).
