What you are witnessing is the rebirth of my creative soul. About two years ago I went through some of the hardest times of my life as I recovered from a divorce. I was able to channel my creative energy into a cathartic body of work. Doing this helped me break through a 10+ year long block that had kept me from expressing Who I Really Am. I'm Female and Taken. Citrinepoint's contacts (170)Citrinepoint's public groupsA bit more about Citrinepoint...

Testimonials"I came to know shoshanna's work through flickr when she showed interest in something I had painted, what an honor for someone with her talent to notice me. Her work enthralls me with the brillant colors she masters so well. I don't think I'll ever be in her league but she inspires me to paint." "Shoshanna is an artist who works from the heart. From her simplest composition to her most complex pieces her world and experiences, in laughter and in sadness are expressed exquisitely with an acuity I aspire to." "Shoshanna is very loving personality and her love for creation shows through her artistic expressions as a watercolorist. Her celestial and galatic themes immediately teleports even an untrained viewer into another dimension where mind breathes freshness without need of nose. She's gifted to express complexity without fuss and her work could be understood easily by everyone. her expressions are very casual containing deep messages to discovered within therefore i always enjoy her postings! god bless!" "The world is full of beauty and citrine sees it all... not only that but she can put it into her painting... sometimes as a delicate wash, sometimes wonderfully rich colours, sometimes as a powerful composition... congratulation your art is developing wonderfully... and is a true inspiration" "A truly inspirational artist, Shoshanna's work displays movement and grace. There is a clarity in her art that draws the gazer in and shares the imbued emotion on a very visceral level. It's intuitive, it's emotive, it's beautiful. And when you walk away you know that you have seen a piece of her soul - and recognized the mirror of your own." "Like all of us Shoshanna is on a quest. I love to see her pictures in watercolor because she is so willing to share her pictures as though a visual diary of the journey she is on. Her pictures and her words teach me much about my passion for the medium of watercolor. Until Shoshanna painted a picture of a corn maiden, I had no idea what she was painting. It certainly didn’t look like a cob of corn or resemble the kind of maidens I see in Glamour magazine. When I went to the internet to research them, I found a piece of me in those who collected stone ornaments called corn maidens. You see, I have a thing about smooth stones. Whenever I would go out hiking or kayaking I invariable would bring back at least one small stone flattened by time in fast moving full spring creeks. I would take them a put them in a jar in my room to remind me of a small piece of creation made by God. Spend time with Shoshanna's photo stream. Her works remind me of that jar of rocks….. I like to look at them all -- after she’s been out exploring on her quest." "I just love Shoshanna s work. I find it very inspiring. It seems to touch my spirit deeply and simply, no words, just colours and shapes. We are so bombarded with images that I usually do not react that strongly. This says a lot for Shoshanna s artwork and its ability to affect people profoundly. Thank you" "You are my hero(ine) of watercolor art!! I have been doing watercolors since I was really young (I'm about 20 now) and but the past few years I've been in a slump with them... seeing what you can do with color and shape and the messages behind them makes me want to grab the paints and brushes and splash on some color myself! Seeing your pictures of the transition of divorce have also inspired me... I am too young and inexperienced to know what divorce is truely like, but I have been through my versions of break-ups and intense loneliness. Keep painting, and I will keep looking to your work for inspiration!" "Shoshanna's art reflects her beautiful, creative spirit. I sense a great generosity which she expresses in her paintings. I particularly like the guardian series which have a marvelous vitality. I am always happy to see her new work appear on Flickr." "Citrinepoint brings an amazing amount of synchronicity to her art. Not only is her use of color, shading, and composition a treat for the eye--but she seems to know what the viewer most needs to see. Her works speak on an intimate and personal level to everyone who sees it, and it's obvious she invests her heart in each work. Her skill at pulling beauty out of the ethereal universe and molding it on paper for us to see never ceases to amaze me." "I love Citrinepoint art. Especially the way she do faces. Very emotional. Very. And when i thik of watercolors, i think of her. I really do. :-)" "Shoshana's art is a personal journey of self discovery. She's created a spark that ignited brilliant light and colors out of darkness and despair. This has led her onto a spiritual path of immense beauty, mystery and an alchemist's touch with her paintbrush. Her work is alive with symbolism. The spirals are especially significant, dancing and weaving like fairies through almost every piece. She is a deep, complex personality still in process (as symbolized by the spirals). Her shadow is coming into balance and harmony with the lightness of her very being, making her a rather interesting person as well as a wonderful artist." "I have looked through Shoshanna's portfolio as it is seen here. I can see that this person has a good skill for rendering, and also has the ability to incorporate abstract stylizations into her themes. This combination of abilities is attractive to the general public, and falls within the lay persons ability to understand the stated topic. Her work is more like illustration, as you would see with a Disney kind of commercial vocabulary. My only criticism is the hope that she would use her abundant technical, and illustrative skills, to dig deeper within herself to find more profound meaning in her work. I believe she does very good work, but the best I hope is yet to emerge. I see a lot in her as a human being, she is insightful and spiritual. I encourage her to continue to grow and prosper." "Citrinepoint is an incredible talent and has a great eye for color, design and composition. Her art is loaded with emotion, mood and creativity." |
