"You are the different drummer everyone claims to dance to", as told to me by a friend once, now that that is out of the way...
A photojournalist in training. Also here is some of my writing here (any of the articles by James Tworow/Sherlock) as well as small blurbs of writing that accompany my photos, I haven't officially done any writing much lately.
My favourite subjects for photography
1) Public events and street photography - I love photographing people, all sorts of people whether at an event or just hanging out downtown or at the park or... etc... And I'd rather do a street portrait and communicate with people than do a street photograph.
I would also like to get more into formal portraiture, haven't done much yet but do have lots of experience from my street level photography.
2) Stage performance - I enjoy photographing stage performance at various events, whether it is dance, music, whatever is being performed on stage really. My specific involvements are with the Calgary Spoken Festival, Afrikadey and Expo Latino.
3) Classic Car Shows and classic cars in general - I have always had a real love affair with the automobile (especially classic imports)
4) And when I get a chance I also enjoy scenic photography (mainly over the winter months), running the whole range from gritty urban scenery to beautiful nature pictures.
5) And also have a real love of old, vintage pictures. I have a large family collection of vintage pictures and slides, plus many "found" pictures I've also acquired.
My Camera Gear:
1) Nikon D90 with... Nikkor 50mm F/1.8 D, Nikkor 70-210 F/4 - 5.6 D, and Tamron 17-50 F/2.8
2) Canonet QL17 GIII (ca. 1970's) - an older rangefinder film camera, an estate sale purchase that I hope to use more in between digital photography
3) Olympus Trip 35 (ca. 1968) - a thrift store purchase for $3, a very good deal from what I've been told
4) Minolta XG-M SLR camera (ca. 1981) - The camera that got me into more serious photography, it hasn't been used much lately but it's still there ready for use
4) A few other vintage cameras, some may work and some may not, have yet to use any of them but hope to...

"James is extremely dedicated and passionate photographer. To me, this testimony is an opportunity to thank James for efforts and energy that he puts into organizing Flickr crowd in Calgary. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think Calgary community is the most organized in Canada and my impression is that its success comes largely because of James’s exceptional patience and organizational skills. James is extremely kind person who is always there when you need advice or feedback."
