I've been drawn to creating things all my life. My most heartfelt passion is storytelling--creating with words--and I am a writer by trade.

But I have also always found myself making...making things and objects and stuff. Being a visual artist is as much a part of my soul as anything. I get elated when I find a new medium with which to express myself and create new objects of beauty to exist in the world.

I was trained as a fine artist, using traditional materials such as paint, clay, and plaster. After school, I became more interested in craft materials and taught myself papermaking, candlemaking, and knitting. Most recently, I have discovered the joys of fiber sculpture.

I don't like to pigeonhole my art into any one medium or style. Like my writing, it goes from dark to funny to beautiful, because there is no one way to see the world.

And there's no one way to show someone else the world through your eyes.
