I write for an east coast fundraising consulting firm that works with a lot of museums and colleges. For a writer, there are much worse ways to make a living.

I'm a sailor and a dog freak. Dog freak means just what it means. Rico, my dog, is liberally scattered throughout. My boat photos are sparse, but this summer, I'm taking sailing and surfing lessons. There will be more photos then. Until then, I've got lots of photos of my old boat and the cool harbors I've known.

Speaking of liberal, I am. I won't preach about anything except global warming. And, as much as I love my country, the two-party system isn't nearly enough to convey all perspectives and it costs too much to remain pure by the time you've been handed the keys to the free world --for either side. Too bad.

The fight is already lost. The Big Box is everywhere.
