I love exploring the meadows and woods, and searching for the creatures I learned about in biology class. I got my first Brownie camera when I was 17. Although I love film, I was dissatisfied with some of the developing labs, so when digital progressed to be equal or better than film I jumped on it and my hobby took off! I love the freedom that digital offers. I am an amateur photographer, and am delighted that anyone offers comments or suggestions. To me it's all about friendship, having fun, and learning more and more. I am amazed at the brilliant talent on Flickr, and humbled and inspired by it. I've learned so much from Flickr it's like going to photography class!
I am mostly interested in nature photography; I started out to capture wildflowers and insects to catalog what is in the habitat in mountainous West Virginia and other wildlife areas. We have so many beautiful butterflies and wildflowers and it is my goal to capture as many as I am able to. Although I try to put only the best of my work on Flickr, my main goal is to document wildlife in the environment around me. I don't care if some of the creatures aren't beautiful, even Rattlesnakes if I find one, they too are an important part of the environment. And if they are rare, that's even better!! I would love to find a species that hasn't been discovered in the area before.
