And what Americans learn from the French, if they spend long enough in the country, is that ideas matter, that more isn't necessarily better—particularly when it comes to food!—and even more, that the present is the most important... to make this moment beautiful, and taste good, and sound good, and keep it personal and private, and sit back and enjoy it totally, without worrying what is going to happen 10 minutes from now. Old countries have old sayings, and one of them is, "Nothing better is going to happen than is happening right this moment."
