For the historically curious: Georgy Malenkov was premier of the Soviet Union for about 20 minutes. His brief rise marks the transition of power from the "Old Bolsheviks" (those that had not died of natural causes were mostly purged by Stalin) to the new, post-revolution generation.

History largely ignores him. After Khrushchev forced him from power, he was not subjected to the familiar cycle of token Izvestia-editorship, party expulsion, show trial, and murder that had become the status quo under Stalin. Rather, he was sent into exile to manage a hydroelectric plan in Kazakhstan, which some historians creditably argue might have been a worse fate. Hence, Malenkov in Exile - ignored and running a backwater dam.

This is not a personal commentary. This is a joke. A History Joke.
