I'm a Canadian born Chinese, CBC, a "banana" as Chinese people call it because I'm yellow on the outside and white on the inside. I'm interested in teaching English overseas. My destinations of interest are in Asia: such as Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan. I love to travel and experience different cultures. Perhaps I just want to make myself a little bit more yellow on the inside eh? hahaha! While Canada is a great place to be, there is also a lot I want to see in this world. I believe life is too short to settle in one place. So hopefully the profession of English teaching will help me achieve this dream of mine. While I don't necessarily need a linguistics degree to teach English, I believe it will help me become a better teacher. Let's see where it leads me...

For a brief period of about 6 months, I was able to realize my dream in Japan. I went there job searching on a working holiday visa. It took just over 2 months for me to land a job at a kindergarten: Gyosei International Kindergarten 暁星国際学園新浦安幼稚園. My life was set into motion; I could fund myself to become independent. I could potentially make Japan my home. I fell in love with teaching the wonderful children. Slowly making friends at church and absorbing the Japanese culture. But the earthquake took it all away... for now.

P.S: If any of the kids in moon class get to this page, I'm sorry I couldn't attend your graduation. Miss you a lot!

Regarding photography, a quote from RFD member Jimbobs explains best, the way I take pictures:

OP, for what it's worth, my father used to tell me that there are essentially three types of photograph (two really as one could be considered a subset of the other): snaps, records and photographs. Snaps are just quick shots fired off when you're on a family outing or holiday. Records are similar, for example, a picture of the Eiffel Tower when visiting Paris. Photographs are the serious versions of these where you use all your knowledge and equipment to achieve a particular desired result.

My flickr sets are inspired by the 'Photo Sharing' section of photography-on-the.net/forum/ which hopefully covers most situations without the need for a thousand different sets. The pictures within the sets are also chronologically ordered, and should be viewed as such.
