I am an idealist and my artwork reflects this. I began taking photos to capture beautiful phenomena, but they were often surrounded by distasteful or irrelevant factors. I strove to eliminate these imperfections from my ideal by carefully angling and positioning the camera's lens: My photography is just as much about what I have left out of the frame as what is actually present. I dance a delicate balancing act, cropping and avoiding. I play the game of denial: if you can't see it, it doesn't exist.
