Our mission is to provide children with a nurturing, challenging educational environment that uses the legacy of the African diaspora to inspire students to use education in order to make a positive contribution to their community and the world. We reward individuality and encourage leadership skills. By integrating the history and culture of peoples of African descent into our competitive curriculum, students learn the breadth of African peoples’ contribution to mathematics, science, literature, technology, social studies, the arts and humanities. We aim to teach students the richness of their history in order to inspire them to value education and the distribution of knowledge. Shabazz School strives to raise community-minded professional leaders by stressing academic excellence, personal responsibility, worldly perspective and community consciousness.
