ISIS Hosts First Ever SEX::TECH Sex Ed Video Contest!! Imagine the Future of Sex Ed: Why is sex so interesting and sex ed so boring?

Remember those boring sex ed videos you had to watch in school? You know, the ones that either put you to sleep, scared you to death or didn't teach you anything useful about sex? Wait! We grant YOU the power to make sex ed as exciting as it sounds!

Using digital video technology, tell us how you want your sex education delivered. Would you want your teacher to blog each lesson so you can comment anonymously? Do you want your own personal robot tutor? A virtual reality game you could play with other teens around the world? Or maybe, just maybe, you want real youth in person talking candidly about their experiences, or HIV-positive people telling you about their lives, or something else we can't quite imagine yet.

ISIS and NSRC are hosting a digital video contest aimed at imagining how good sex ed CAN be. Make a video with the theme "Imagine the future of sex education: Redesign your experience" and submit it through DoGooderTV by December 31st. You'll be eligible to win a $2500 dollar scholarship to the educational insitution of your choice. Content and creative vision will be weighed more heavily than production quality. Voting begins on January 4, 2008. See the official rules for more details.

Video finalists will be featured at the Sex::Tech Conference: Focus on Youth, an Inaugural STD/HIV Prevention Conference about youth and technology, January 22 - 23, 2008 in San Francisco, CA at SFSU's Institute for Next Generation Internet.
