I am Sharon (Shaz for fun). I love to make things. I am a craftswoman. I sew and crochet, I love taking photos and making cards. I play the fiddle (violin) and teach music to children ages 0-97. I can fix things when they break. Most things. And I love to bake. Not cook. Definitely bake. I grew up in the great Northwest and most of my creative ideas can be tied back to rain, coffee, fir trees, The Mountain (Mt. Rainier), or the ocean. I have two wonderful daughters and an amazing partner who inspire me daily. We currently live on the prairie (Chicago) with our two cats.

Sewshaz came about as an extension of my daily life as a stay-at-home-mom. Problem: the kids are naked. They need clothes. Perhaps I can make something? We have no car. I have to haul groceries on foot with a baby. Those grocery store bags are not cutting it. Maybe I can make something? This old house is too freakin’ cold all the time. What if I tried to make something? Something blanket-like? Hmmmmm….

So here I am, on my quest to sew my way out of jam whenever possible.
