I only bought a 'decent' camera because I wanted to be able to take 'decent' pictures on an impending 3 month trip to Zimbabwe in 1989. And decent pictures I did take - just. But I wanted to do better, and in the September of 1989 I started to learn how to get better rather than just decent.

My serious hobby ended in 1995 when I started University, and has never really got going again. Although I do still dabble, I don't get the time to do it on the scale I used to. One day maybe I will replace my trusty EOS 600 with a DSLR and start doing it again, but until that time I'm going to try and chuck some of my old 'decent' images on here.
