I thought I'd update this for 2008. Who am I? I'm not usually too wordy, so you'll have to look at my photos to figure that one out. There's even on or two of me in there.

I'm here because, well, I like to take pictures. Passes the time. There is no real goal to it all, other than to improve. Feel free to comment, criticize, or heap praise upon me.

In the past, I use to post this blog called Muddy River. But one thing led to another, and it fell by the wayside. It has since enjoyed a half-hearted revival, as I sometimes will post a photo I'm particularly fond of. Maybe, someday, I'll get around to reworking it.

I certainly enjoy looking at the many other photographers here on Flickr, and find much to inspire me. Taking a look at my favorites, I realize mine don't look anything like them. Something to work on, I suppose.

Of the myriad groups on Flickr, this is the one I enjoy the most:

Utata

On the Utata group, their was a discussion of people's photo resolutions. Here are mine for 2008:

-participate in more Utata projects.

-learn more about printing photos.

-comment more on other flikrite's photos.

-improve my technical skills.

-organize (and back up) the myriad photos on my computer

What else? Well, I work as part of Equal Excahnge, a coop that deals in Fair Trade coffee, tea, and chocolate. I've spent most of my life in the Boston area, and lived for the last 10+ years in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. Many of these photos are from the Boston area, with some from my occasional travels.

    Ms. DBomb Photo says:

"I am somewhat at a loss of words in writing my first Testimonial, but Joe's work is worth it! He has an incredible vision for finding what natural beauty exists in his surroundings, and uses an intelligent "eye" for detailing to choose his images wisely, whether they speak to him on an emotional level, or even if it simply makes him proud to complete a project! :-)

His choice of locations and subject matter is effortless, as it seems they naturally appear to him as a moment of time NEEDING to be captured.

To view his work is a priviledge and hope he continues what he does...

    CHEERS JOE! Cheers friend!"
