I am Florian, student from Germany. At the moment I study marine engineering in the 4th semester.

Since I was 16 I started to take photos. In the beginning my favourite objects were ships. I started with a small and simple digital camera from Kodak (guess it was DC-240) or something... But it was so small and the lense was very small so couldn't really take good photos.
After one year I saved some money and finally bought myself a Nikon F-80 with a 70-300mm and a 28-70mm lense. It was the start of my career. It was still analog camera but I got some nice photos. At that time I used my F80 around 3 years and I took around 18000 negatives during that time. It was really a lot and 98% of it were only shipphotos. But I still continued also to take digital pics. I used an "Olympus C-2100" camera with 10times zoom, means nearly 400mm. This camera was great but the zoom also very slow.
So finally around 3 years ago I decided to buy a DSLR. Finally my decision was Nikon D-100 and until today I am so happy with that camera. It makes great shots and I dont wanna miss it. During the time I also updated my lenses and today my main lense is the SIGMA EX APO HSM 70-200mm f/2.8 EF D.
This lense is really one of the best I ever used. With the internal factor of 1,5 of the D100 the lense is a 100 to 300mm around.

Besides I also have a 2 times converter for some upgrade of my Sigma. So I have a 200-600mm if I really need sometimes.
Besides I am still using a simple Nikkor 70-300mm and a Nikkor 28-70mm.

But in the near future I wanna have some upgrade for my equipment, like I am looking for a nice lense with the wide of around 18-70 with a f/2.8 and a flash light like the SB-80DX and the MB-D100. But still looking for good prices.
