Most things are described below. I've been thinking recently how much photography means to me, images are an important stimulus to evoke strong sensations and passions.
A good photograph does not have to be planned, purposefully lit, or waited for. Just put yourself somewhere interesting and it should just happen. Yes, there is something to composition, angles, color, and framing, but I seem to be drawn more to the "work" of "amatuer" photographers that appear on Flickr.
