I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast with a strong penchant for getting to the top of things. I hike, climb, bike and just wander outdoors. I'm also a traditional fiddler specializing in Celtic, Cape Breton and French Canadian traditions as well as a not very prolific tune composer. I have also been known to do Tai-ji on the tops of mountains. Oh, yeah, I think photography is pretty neat, too.

And while I'm on the topic of photography, I should make some statement of how I view the photograph. I see photographs as having 2 main functions, not necessarily separate and not necessarily joined. In no particular order they are as "documentaries" and as "art". Often I take photos to document a particular aspect of an event, a place or a time. These are in no way a form of my own art. They are records of the moment. Other photos are taken for the sake of the line present, the light, the image that I see etc. Those are more artsy. I'm at my best when my documentaries cross over into the artsy but that is so rare and I never know when that will be. Nuff said, gotta go shoot some more pics ;-))
