I'm English but have lived in the USA since 2000. Started out in Philadelphia for a few years but migrated north to MA in the fall of 2005 & I love living in New England so much.

Although I'm a veterinarian, I'm not a practising pet-vet, but work in the research arena as a pathologist. I'm one of those lucky people who loves their job.

I love getting out & about with my camera - photography is a great hobby because you can do it alone or with others, and in any weather conditions (within reason I suppose!)

Some other random things about me: Prefer good company over my own any day. Love sports - baseball is my favorite American sport, & my favorite player is Mike Lowell; I do sadly always have tremendous difficulty with NFL rules & it stops me being able to get "into it" - nothing makes any sense to me, nothing. My male friends always tell me they don't even understand my questions. I'm a half-decent cook (apparently), although I do have a pathological fear of tomatoes; Love ice-cream, chocolate, coffee, lady grey tea; Hate to be without half & half for my coffee, I'm addicted, especially to the flavored varieties); I'm 5'5"; Enjoy going to the gym at 5:30am wearing a baseball cap, knowing I haven't showered yet & my hair looks like a bird's nest under the hat; Love New England. I have a strange, inexplicable obsession with lighthouses; Enjoy a cold Sam Adams any time, but I also like a glass of wine (any color, any country, any time, but I do somewhat favor the Australian/NZ wines for no real reason) & I'm friends with Jack Daniels too. American public restrooms perturb me - too much gap at the side of the door - call me old-fashioned but I don't like onlookers to be able to look me in the eye while I piddle. And by the way, what did you people do with all our vowels? Some things I hate to be without every day: early morning CNN, my watch, earrings & lip balm! Oh & a/c in the summer, that's not negotiable
