Scott Foy's photostream |
If you add me as a contact, please don't be offended if i don't add you in return immediately, i only go through my flickr mail once a month and it takes me a long time to go through it. Thank you.
Also, please do not add me if you expect me to check your photostream on a regular basis, i have a life outside of flickr and unfortunately my time on here is limited. So many contacts, so many photos being added, it takes me a LONG time to go through my contacts shots.
I have been taking photographs since i decided to purchase a camera for a trip i took to Pisa, Italy in november 2005, and since then i have caught the photography bug in a big way. My shots have been taken using a Canon EOS 400D and a Canon Powershot A620, and any post processing has been done using Picasa 2.0.

This evening shot i took of Edinburgh has been published in the Schmap online Edinburgh Travel Guide. Thank you to the people at Schmap for selecting that shot :-)

These two shots i took in Pisa were selected by the good people at Wiley Publishing to be included in their book "A Global History Of Architecture", and appear on page 367 of the book. Thank you to Lauren LaFrance for choosing to add those shots :-)

The above shot is currently being used as a background for the website of Full Court Press Communications, a small PR firm in California. Thanks to Anneka Foushee for selecting my shot :-)

This shot i took looking down the valley at Muirshiel Country Park has been published in a pocket guide called "Celtic Saints" and appears on page 37 of the book. Many thanks to the great people at Appletree Press, who publish the book and selected my photo for inclusion :-)

This shot i took on Buchanan Street in Glasgow has been used in the publication of the book "25 Years Of Taggart", a book celebrating the anniversary of one of the most popular tv shows in Scotland. It is a real honour to have my photo included in this book, as "Taggart" is a real national institution. Thanks to Bernard Dive of the Headline Publishing Group for selecting my photo, which appears on page 76 of the book.

The above two shots are being used in the website www.bcalreunited.co.uk/, a website dedicated to ex-employees of the former airline British Caledonian. The shots can be found on the website here (Paisley Abbey) and here (Glasgow City Chambers). Thanks to Tom Boyle for selecting my shots for his site.
I am always learning photography, and i always welcome constructive criticism that will help me improve my shots.
I hope you enjoy viewing my photostream, and thank you for taking the time to have a look :-)

"Scott Foy is this very talented and gifted young photographer that I got to know by chance in Flickr! He was one of my first Flickr friends.
Viewing one photo is never enough, I was always hooked...page 1, 2, 3, 4...endless! I just felt so relaxed after looking at his collection when I'm stressed with exams / studies. You should try this yourself when you're stressed!! :-)
Every single pic taken by him is - honestly - so beautiful - like those you see in magazines or calendars / postcards! Now I'm wondering if he actually owns a studio!
Thanks so much again Scott for sharing all your work with us.
And we also happened to have a same name. Oh, I love photos!!!!"31st May, 2007

"I have had a testimonial for Scott rolling around in my brain for a LONG time! Today it crystallized… He lives in a magical place called Howwood, where he captures the most beautiful fairytale qualities of his incredible surroundings. He brings to life the buildings, the skies, the lush landscapes, flowers, and scenery…. And then there are his specially trained cast of cows, who obediently pose for him whenever he asks…. :-) I’ve long known that he lives in an enchanted place, and I never want to miss a single one of his pictures…. Well, he recently traveled to NYC, and after viewing his amazing pictures of that remarkable city, my long held suspicions were confirmed…. It isn’t the places where he takes pictures that are magic…. It is SCOTT who sees the beauty around him and shares it in a magical way! HE is magic…. I feel so lucky to be a part of his magnificent world…. He is not only among the best photographers on flickr, but he is a kind, wonderful friend, whose heart is as beautiful as his vision.
Thank you, Scott….
I’m honored to be able to view your brilliant pictures, and especially, to be your friend.

pixability says:
"Scott's stream shows us more than the picturesque rural landscape that he walks through daily. His images reveal an appreciation for natural beauty, stunning color, and a focus on mans impact on the natural world. Streets bisect rolling hills, ruins from days of old are consumed by time and nature, and markers and monuments act as a testament to the enduring footprint of man. Through Scott's images we step through time and walk along with Scott through the past, present and future."

"I can tell from his photostream that Scott loves the land around him. And who could blame him? His photostream makes me want to pack up my life and move to Scotland! Wonderful, beautiful and moving photos of his homeland. And Scott is just a darned nice guy too. He is always ready to sneak onto my photostream and leave comments behind. Such the shame that he lives on the far side of the Pond because he is one Flickrite I would love to hang out with."

"You said this about Scott Foy:
"One word of warning! If you are going to view Scott's photos for the first time, be prepared: Scott's photos are dangerously addictive!
The most conspicuous characteristic of his photos is his obvious love for nature and his surroundings. The photos are always beautifully composed and very pleasing to the eye!
It is always a pleasure to see what Scott has been up to with his camera and what new photos he has uploaded. Since, like I said, getting hooked on Scott's photos is very easy!
You have been warned!!
:-)
Thanks a lot, Scott, for all your wonderful photos and for sharing them with us!""10th October, 2006

Benjamin Postlewait says:
"Scott is as good of a "flickr friend" as you could ever wish for. Every time I go to make a comment on some random person's picture, nine times out of ten I see that Scott has already been there and commented. One could not be a nicer and more sincere person than Scott.
As for his photography...each shot is just a breath of fresh air! If I could plan every major vacation of mine to the UK, I would. But time and money does not allow, so Scott's shots are the next best thing! Each shot wonderfully captures the beauty and magic of the Scottish countryside.
When most think of Scotland, they imagine dreary rain clouds. The funny thing is, by looking at his shots, you'd swear every day in Scotland was bright and sunny. With Scott's shining personality though, it's no wonder his shots look so warm and inviting."8th July, 2006

It is always such a pleasure to visit his photostream everytime! You'll want to fave every image!
Scott is also an awesome friend! Each of his visits brings me so much delight with his kind words!
His photos never ceases to amaze me! Keep up the excellent work, Scott!"8th July, 2006

It's truly a joy to see what Scott posts as his work is always faultless in my opinion.
I have admired his work since joining flickr and I have used his "lone tree" shots as inspiration for some of my pictures
Even thought Scott has many contacts he always finds time to comment on my photo's which I am really flattered about.
I hope he continues of amaze me with his quality work."5th July, 2006

"I've been following Scott's work on Flickr for quite some time. He is a master of landscapes, as anyone who browses his photos can corroborate. His blue skies, green grass, white clouds and interesting houses and monuments are just amazing. It's like if the sun, clouds, grass and sky make great plans each time he goes out to make photos!
Nice work, Scott!

"Scott has an excellent eye and is perhaps the best photo-documentarian on Flickr. I lived and travelled in Scotland for a year and never came close to observing the tremendous variety of landscape and climate that can be seen just by perusing Scott's photostream.
Beyond his substantial photographic talent, Scott is a tremendous asset to the Flickr community. He constantly keeps up with the contributions of his contacts and never fails to leave insightful comments."3rd April, 2006

"Scott is an amazing person with a natural eye for capturing beauty wherever he goes.
His photos offer great composition mixed with a love and respect for the natural world around him.
Even if you've been to Scotland, the photos he offers of this land are usually off the beaten path and always well worth your time.
I always look forward to Scott's next photo!
He is also a great flickr friend who always makes time to stop by and leave nice comments on your latest offering as well.
Keep up the great work Scott!
