Schnitzer is an award-winning commercial, freelance and fine art photographer ranging throughout the West. Recent gallery shows have been in Denver and Kansas City, MO, with awards received for both color and black-and-white images. Publication credits include ESPNOutdoors.com, TU.org, TROUT Magazine, Patagonia (tm) catalogs, Fly Fish America, Fly Rod & Reel, NewWest.net, and several conservation titles. Schnitzer is currently doing commercial work for Community Bankshares, Inc., as well as image work for the Western Rivers Conservancy.
Russ's "real" job is in non-profit conservation, a field he's been in for ten years. He is also a road bicyclist, a sometime-mountaineer and climber, mountain biker, and occasional freelance writer.
Schnitzer grew up in rural northern Minnesota, and has lived in Idaho, Montana, Michigan, Vermont, Wisconsin, Washington DC, and Colorado. He now calls Wyoming home. Russ is a graduate of the University of Idaho.
