Scared To Dance is a twice monthly club night playing the finest indiepop, post-punk and new wave you’ll hear in London. The club nights are on every second Saturday of the month at The Albany and every last Saturday at King’s Cross Social Club.

At the club you can expect to hear the likes of The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, Camera Obscura, Hefner, Cats on Fire, Jens Lekman, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Magnetic Fields, McCarthy, The Vaselines, Orange Juice, Joy Division, Wire, Gang of Four, The Velvet Underground, The Fall, Depeche Mode and The Cure.

We aim to bring you the best guest DJs around. In the past we’ve had Pat Nevin, Simon Armitage, Robin Ince, Gideon Coe, Allo Darlin’, The Wave Pictures, Veronica Falls and Amelia Fletcher amongst numerous others.

We also promote gigs in London. We’ve put on Darren Hayman, Standard Fare, Shrag, David Tattersall, Pocketbooks, Red Shoe Diaries, The Understudies, Jack Hayter, Fever Dream and Evans the Death.

Our sold out fanzines have included interviews with the many of the bands we play at the club plus free CD giveaways from Fortuna Pop!, Odd Box Records and Where It’s At Is Where You Are.

Previously we’ve taken the club to New York, Oslo, Edinburgh and Bergen as well as Indietracks festival. Please contact Paul Richards if you would like the club to come to your city.
