Instant action, an instant promise and commitment. AIDS is an global epidemic threatening disease over 33 million people today, and already responsible for the deaths of 5700 individuals each day. However, in schools and communities in the US, so many students are either unconcerned or unaware about the immense issue of AIDS. In order to raise awareness in my school and create an instant promise with Polaroid film, I took photos of groups of people holding a sign "We are Aware." With this phrase, they are committing to staying aware about the issue and with the instant film, they can see their promise transcribed on film and perhaps feel more empowered to fulfill their promise. I
